For over 35 years, I was almost always the only technical woman in the room. Being an engineer and having a variety of management roles, I've sat face to face with CEOs, presidents, VP's, and prestigious clients. I have also mentored countless engineers, scientists, program managers and technicians.

My career, like most, has had ups and downs. It has been rewarding, technically stimulating and gave me a comfortable living. But there were also times where I had to walk away, and times when I had to decide how to deal with biased or unethical behavior.  I didn't have many female role models to turn to, or anyone to really talk to about the issues I faced.
